How do you spread safety and goodwill throughout the City of Saint Paul? By firing up the grill of course!
The Safe Summer Nights program is designed to provide opportunities for police officers to become acquainted with residents of the neighborhoods they serve over a meal rather than during times of trouble.
The FREE, public events feature food, activities for children and ample opportunities for attendees to meet their Saint Paul police officers. The deprtment will also bring its horse and motorcycle units to the cookout. The BearCat vehicle, which is always popular with kids, will be there too. Bouncy houses and climbing walls have also been known to appear, thanks to Saint Paul Parks & Recreation.
Join us on the patio of St. Paul's Flat Earth Brewing for Thirsty Thursday! An event for networking after hours. And because we are on the same site we can saunter over and see what is developing at the 11 Wells Tasting Room as well. The first 30 RSVPs get a free drink for Member Appreciation!
Side-By-Side: Celebrating Differences for a Common Cause
On September 15-16, 2018, our diverse St. Paul East Side community is coming together to pack 250,000 meals that will provide relief to families in our neighborhoods facing hunger challenges. Eleven faith communities are partnering with Meals From The Heart to pack food, which will then be distributed to food shelves and churches across MN to get into the hands of those who need help with food. This event will take place at Gustavus Adolphus Church (1669 Arcade Street) on Saturday, September 15th and Sunday, September 16th. Volunteers will work in groups of 10 to mix rice, dried vegetables, protein and flavoring into a packet that is then sealed and packed into a box. Area businesses, civic groups, scout troops, sports teams, and anyone at all is invited to sign up teams to volunteer for a 2-hour packing shift. Over 900 volunteers are needed to pack 250,000 meals. You can sign up here: http://www.stpaulsidebyside.org. Sign up today to show the community your business cares!
