The state legislature will soon consider Lower Phalen Creek Project's request for $3 million in bonding funds for the future Wakan Tipi Center at Bruce Vento Nature Sanctuary. Lower Phalen Creek is organizing an event at the Capitol to get residents to meet with their legislators and share the importance of the future Wakan Tipi Center. It's critical that we support our fellow East Siders to secure funding for what will be an amazing new asset to our community!

Lower Phalen Creek is looking for 125+ people to show up  from 8 AM to noon next Wednesday, March 14th at the Capitol building. If you can't make it in person, email your legislator here.

The Wakan Tipi Center will be a community gathering place to interpret and educate about the cultural and natural history of the area. Primarily, it will focus on the Dakota history of this sacred site but will also include stories and perspectives from our diverse history on the East Side.
