Under Article I, Section 2 of the Minnesota Constitution, incarcerated individuals are legally classified as slaves. This clause has been used to continue the practice of involuntary servitude in the form of prison labor. Hear the voices of incarcerated workers and families, engage with expert panels, and participate in breakout sessions. Public awareness; legislative action; voter power! With keynote addresses by: Elizer Darris, Executive Director of Minnesota Freedom Fund and Chauntyll Allen, Executive Director of the End Slavery in Minnesota Coalition. The annual URMI conference is free and open to all.
